Roleplaying on a lazy summer night, when your character abruptly comes to an untimely end - what else is a poor geek meant to do but take a photo of the dice roll that wasn't quite good enough?
Hmm, your base-surface used looks like a "charger" plate(shiny metal surface on which to place candles to use the reflection to augment their light-casting abilities or sommat.)
That definitely looks like a hard shot, because you had to get both the dice and its reflection in there good, then you had to get the glow of each of the buggers in to boot.
And I see a little revealed information about William up above me in the comments too...
Yeah, I'm sick and I'm insomniac and I'm poking your gallery.

It just so happens that I'm blessed with my mother's strange and interesting gift of Zen Photography - that shiny surface is the lid of the tin a friend of mine stores all his dice in, the lighting turned out that way because a second friend couldn't find a replacement lightbulb, and the photo was taken because a third friend rolled a critical hit on his own dice.
Considering how often the universe tends to set itself up for good photography, I really should carry my shitty digicam around more often.
Wow! That's awesome! Used to play a lot at home, but I'm away for a year, and not playin over here...which is a shame! I miss it!
Yeah, sometimes luck is not on the player's side...but as you said - makes it more exciting sometimes!
Take care, and thanks for the great pic!

ow...I can honestly say that I have never lost a character (per say; one came back a little undead after being decapitated), one lost both his arm and half his foot, and my favourite had is arm lopped off in a duel. But we lost half the party last friday's sesssion. All that remain are the pirate, the agent of the crown and my little ranger who got lost and missed almost the entire battle...
What do you play? (game and character wise).

Pretty much anything, really.
I've played D&D 2nd, 3rd, & 3.5th ed, Shadowrun, Exalted, Tri-stat: Silver Age Sentinals, WoD old (vampire, and a bit of mage) and new (mage), Call of Cthulhu d20 and chaosium variants, Everway, Unknown Armies, and of course, the systemless Post Modern Super Hero Game, Burgundy Squad.
As for characters, I'm afraid I can't remember all of them, but highlights include a drug fucked victorian charlatan, a sociopathic bard/rogue, an elven rock star, a teenage superscientist with a spider robot fetish, and my current favorite and most often played character, William Moss, the 70s communist sympathist tree.
In the event you got through that tedious list, what systems do you play? I assume from other comments that you're in the Brisbane area - do you play much? I'm always trying to find new people to game with.
We play every Friday night 'round at my house. Yeah I live in innner-city Brisbane, we've just been hunting for new people for the main campaign we play (DnD 3rd ed. Forgotten Realms). The campaign has been going for about three years now but couple of months ago the DM and the wizard had a massive (out of game) fight and then my younger brother (the fighter) decides that if Glen's not playing then niether is he. That left the Rogue/agent of the crown and me, the elven ranger.
If you wanted to play with us I'd have to talk with the rest of the party (we've picked up a pirate, a new fighter and a cleric since), but i don't imagine it would be a problem. I also have to talk to the party about what they're going to do while I'm over-seas (I've never missed a session and the idea of missing seven weeks is upsetting).
I play mostly 3rd ed. DnD. I have a drow Druid,Moon Elven Ranger, Drow Bard and an Elvish Rogue. In Ravenloft I have an Elvish Ranger (I just love Elves too much), in Vampire I have a Malkavian and in Fairy I have a Pooka. i also have a 2nd ed. Elvish Wizard but I haven't player her in about six years and I don't even know if I still have a sheet for her.
I find Sci-fi mind-numbingly boring and horror has no effect on me.
But yeah, if you want to come play with us I (and if it's cool with the rest of the party) I could note you my address. We only have two sessions left before I fly to Sth Africa, so I'll have to ask people about that.
Alright, I've got to go and get tattooed, I'll talk to you later.

Funny how things like that can run in the family...
